An effective, enjoyable way of tackling Multi Faith issues in the school in one simple presentation

There is tremendous pressure on the curriculum these days, but in our Multi-Faith society it is essential to know what makes others tick religiously.

Even a small shot of knowledge can dispel a little ignorance and encourage respect, leading to a more harmonious society.

Rabbi Douglas Charing, Director of the Leeds-based Jewish Education Bureau, has been visiting schools throughout the country for many years.

He offers lively and informative presentations on many aspects of Judaism, including Festivals such as Passover and Chanukah, and life-cycle events. Story and song are also included.

Your pupils will be engaged and stimulated and enjoy a lasting experience by an inspiring educator.

To make a booking or for further details of cost and availability, phone our hotline on 0345 567 4071 or email rabbi@jewisheducationbureau.co.uk

Rabbi Charing is also available for school-based Inset.

How can you get the most from a school visit?

Teachers are well aware of the benefits of taking children on a school trip – the opportunities for inspiring, experiential learning have a positive impact both during the visit and back in the classroom. However, with ever-present concerns about OFSTED and meeting targets, how can teachers get the most out of a school visit?

Top Trip Tips

  • Speak to the education team to let them know how the trip fits in with what is being covered in the classroom, so they can adapt the session to best suit your needs.
  • Take advantage of opportunities to visit the site before your trip. As well as being able to complete your risk assessment forms this also gives you the chance to become more familiar with the site and even identify some possible teaching points to focus on.
  • If you can’t go on many trips, consider visiting a site where you would be able to cover a range of different topics or skills all on the same day.

At Chatsworth we can help you achieve all of these tips in one go, by inviting you to attend one of our free Teachers’ Preview Evenings. With so much on offer here, from the historic house and beautiful 105 acres of garden to our hands-on farmyard and adventure playground and our engaging outdoor education sessions, chatting to our friendly and knowledgeable education team at one of these events is the best way to get the most out of your visit.

Join us at our next Preview Evening on Thursday 23rd March 2017 for a glass of wine after work and a chance to have a sneak peek at the new Gucci-sponsored House Style exhibition ahead of season opening.

For more information about the event or to book your free place, check out our website at http://www.chatsworth.org/education/what’s-on/teachers’-preview-evenings or email our education team on education@chatsworth.org.
