Family of 7/7 victim launches cross-curricular
anti-extremism campaign

Next week is the ten year anniversary of the 7/7 London bombings, and to mark the occasion the family of one of the victims is launching a campaign to help tackle extremism in schools.

Visit miriamsvision.org to access unique, high-quality curricular resources that tell Miriam’s story and explore issues surrounding violent extremism. Miriam’s Vision:

  • uses the events of 7/7 as a starting point to develop transferable life skills through critical thinking, and resilience in adversity
  • fosters empathy and appreciation of diversity through experiential learning
  • explores democratic process as a non-violent alternative for dealing with conflict.

“Miriam’s Vision” is apolitical and non-religious. Developed in association with the UCL Institute of Education and Miriam’s school, Copthall in London, the resources are curriculum-linked for ages 11-14 and cover History, Citizenship, PSHE, Geography, Art, Dance and Business & Enterprise.

Please pass this on to colleagues. We look forward to working with you for Miriam’s Vision of a safer, more inclusive society.

With thanks
