The start of each day in the classroom defines how that day continues

The start of each day in the classroom defines how that day continues

Of course, as with all broad statements about teaching, it is possible to find exceptions, but as a general rule of thumb this one is not bad.

The start of each lesson defines how that lesson continues.

And although it can be argued that the start of each lesson is important, I believe that the first activity of the day is doubly important. If the children are started off with something truly invigorating and stimulating, it is more than likely that this is how the day will continue.

For this reason we have developed a whole stream of mentally stimulating focus activities for the children first thing – incorporating regular challenges for gifted and more able children.

The aim throughout is to foster the development of a range of thinking skills and to reinforce independent learning via a wide range of educational activities.

The result is that you get the children’s brains working very well while still managing a calm start to each day. Because all the activities are fully prepared you have no preparation to do.

All these resources are available at www.GoodMorningChildren.com. For £12 per classroom per year you can access all the resources on the site – far more than enough to give you materials for every working day of the year.

Better still, you can use the materials on a free trial basis. Just visit the site, click on the free trial link and fill in the form. You’ll also find testimonials and many other details about our work.

Or if you have any specific enquiries you can contact us by phone on 0870 446 1020 or by email at enquiries@goodmorningchildren.com.

But please do note that if you want the free trial, you do have to apply for that on-line.
