Taking a class to Disney

Since starting this news service I’ve written about 100 or so different locations that either I have taken pupils or students to, or which have been recommended to me.

What I haven’t done is written about any of the theme parks, but I’ve been tempted to today, simply because I’ve had a couple of emails suggesting that I might.

So here goes, with Disneyland® Resort Paris. The company who happened to send me details this week is The Travel Adventure and they stress that a trip to Disneyland Paris is:

“an ideal opportunity for students to bond in a safe environment away from home and there are several activities (apart form the major attraction of the two Disney Parks) to amuse, stimulate and challenge.

“The Learning Enrichment week can present teachers with a real headache in terms of choosing the right location, level and variety of activities to suit the criteria set for the week. These criteria usually entail:

A venue that complies with health and safety and risk assessment conformity
A destination that will appeal to many different student tastes
Somewhere that provides a variety of activity interests
Arrangements that do not require a large amount of teacher time to set up and organise

“We can solve all these problems in a four day trip to Disneyland Resort Paris departing on 24th May 2010. Accommodation is offered either at The Davy Crockett Ranch (from £219) or the Thomas Cook’s Explorers Hotel (from £209).

“The inclusive terms are typically 3 nights bed and breakfast accommodation, return luxury coach travel, 2 day hopper basses for both parks, one in 10 free supervisory places and all VAT and taxes. We also provide a Tutor Resource Pack from which material can be taken to customise study material.”

“The Davy Crockett Ranch includes:

“Indoor tennis court, outdoor sports area, swimming pool, amphitheatre, archery and miniature… Actually the list goes on for nearly half a page, so it might be worth contacting the company if these things are important.”

They’ve also got a four day trip starting on 28th June at the same locations – you can call 01825 740676 for details.
